Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an: “O you who believe! Eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is indeed Him that you worship” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 172).

Allah ﷻ also says: “O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 168).

The Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ said: “The feet of the son of Adam will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about… his wealth: how he earned it and how he spent it” (HR. Tirmidhi).

In another hadith, the Prophet  ﷺ said: “Whoever seeks worldly gains through halal means, wishing to protect himself from begging, to provide for his family, and to be good to his neighbor, will meet Allah with his face like the full moon” (HR. Baihaqi).

The supplication for halal sustenance is greatly emphasized in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Indeed, Allah ﷻ is pure and accepts only what is pure” (HR. Muslim). Halal Wealth’s Benefits for Life

The secret to lifes blessings is halal wealth. Blessings indicate that even though the amount is small the advantages keep increasing. Dependents of halal wealth will be content with their possessions feel at ease when using them and refrain from greed which can sabotage morals and interpersonal relationships. Additionally halal wealth invested in good deeds becomes a perpetual investment in the Hereafter. Allah ﷻ will accept good deeds carried out with halal wealth and they will make a significant contribution to the total number of good deeds.

Contrarily actions financed by haram wealth—no matter how honorable they may appear—will not be permitted since they violate Sharia law. Islam sees the world as a field of actions to prepare for eternal life in the Hereafter rather than as the ultimate goal. As a result people are taught not to be duped by fleeting pleasures in this world. Gaining wealth without taking into account its halal nature will only result in significant losses in this life as well as the next.

Utilizing halal wealth for morally upright ends is another aspect of managing it. Beneficial uses of wealth include supporting education, helping the underprivileged and participating in social activities. Using wealth for immoral purposes on the other hand takes away blessings and calls forth Allah ﷻs wrath.

Maintaining halal income becomes extremely difficult in todays world of material temptations. Business competition, consumerist lifestyles and economic pressures frequently lead people to take illegal shortcuts. Therefore to follow the halal living principles one must have patience and unwavering faith. In the end, halal wealth is about what goes into the heart as much as what goes into the pocket. Halal wealth is the best investment for the Hereafter cultivates moral character and fortifies social ties. Excessive wealth is not the key to salvation in this life or the next rather it is the blessings of wealth obtained via morally upright means and applied for good.
