What is special about the month of Shaban, apart from what is often discussed in general about increasing fasting, it turns out that there is also a special moment, namely the revelation of verses where Allah and the angels offer blessings to the Prophet ﷺ. What is the discussion of the verse that shows the special features of the month of Shaban with its prayers and priorities? Let’s discuss it in the article entitled “Specialties of the Month of Shaban: Momentum for the Decline of Sholawat Verses and Their Importance” below.

Momentum of the Fall of the Sholawat Verse
One of the special features of the month of Shaban is the time when Allah revealed a special verse. The verse that shows respect for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also encourages Muslims to practice it.
This special verse is in the Al-Qur’an Surah Al-Ahzab verse 56, which reads:
Allah says:
Meaning: “Indeed, Allah and His angels pray for the Prophet. O you who believe, pray to the Prophet and greet him with greetings.” (TQS. Al-Ahzab: 56)
This verse Allah revealed in the month of Sha’ban, with the revelation of this prayer verse, the month of Sha’ban is also called ‘Syahru Sholawat’.
K.H. Hafidz Abdurrahma said that Imam Qurthubi explained “yusholluna ‘ala Nabiy” is that Allah gives maghfirah (forgiveness). Secondly, Allah gives mercy. Meanwhile, prayers offered to angels are prayers to ask forgiveness for the king Muhammad ﷺ. Therefore, Allah commanded “shollu ‘alaihi wasallimu taslima”, pray to him.
This prayer was directly taught by Allah to us, and Allah even modeled it directly to mankind. So this prayer is a form of glorification and respect given by Allah SWT to the Prophet ﷺ. So when Allah gives direct respect to the Prophet ﷺ, the consequence is that any form of harassment towards the Prophet ﷺ is haram which makes the perpetrator suffer a major sin.
This is one of the moments that can give special features to the month of Shaban with the revelation of prayer verses.

The Meaning of Sholawat and Its Priorities
By praying, we are praying for the Prophet ﷺ. The meaning of prayer is also conveyed by most scholars that we are actually looking for intercession. Because to get Allah SWT’s jannah, it is not necessarily enough just to do our deeds.
Apart from its special meaning, it turns out that praying also has its own advantages. One of them, every time we pray to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Allah’s prayers will be rewarded tenfold.
From Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu ‘anhu, Rasulullah ﷺ said,
مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَىَّ وَاحِدَةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا
“Whoever prays to me, Allah will pray to him ten times.” (Hadith Jami’ At-Tirmidhi No. 447 and HR. Muslim, no. 408)
The hadith above shows that whoever prays to the Prophet once, Allah will return his prayers ten times. Based on the Word of Allah Ta’ala, there are also indications that goodness will be rewarded tenfold as well.
Allah says,
مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا
“Whoever brings good deeds, then for him (reward) ten times his deeds.” (QS. Al-An’am: 160)
So to get Allah SWT’s jannah, we must be serious about our practice of piety. This includes the piety of people who increase their prayers to the Prophet ﷺ. Especially when we are in the special momentum of the month of Shaban.

Khatimah
Of course, if you say you miss the Prophet ﷺ, surely every Muslim also has the hope that one day you can be in heaven with the Prophet ﷺ. Therefore, it is good news from the hadith from Anas bin Malik, which gives us hope to be able to get a place by the side of the Prophet ﷺ.
In the history of Tirmidhi, the words of the Prophet ﷺ are mentioned,
الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ وَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ
“A person is with the person he loves and you are with the person you love.” (HR. Tirmidhi)
This is the essence of our mahabbah (love) for the Prophet ﷺ. The revelation of the command to pray to the Prophet ﷺ is truly one of the unique features of the month of Sha’ban. So this month we should increase our prayers to the Prophet ﷺ. And this prayer is a sign of our love for the Prophet ﷺ with the hope that, God willing, it will be an intercession for us in the final yaumil.
