Eid: True Victory and True Happiness
Who doesnโt love Eid? After a whole month of battling our desires, the day of victory is finally here! But what does true happiness on Eid really mean? Is it just about new outfits, tasty food, and family gatherings? Letโs dive in and find out!
The True Meaning Behind Lebaran
Eid isnโt just about celebration itโs about the deeper meaning of faith. Itโs a moment of victory for Muslims, not just because weโve managed to endure hunger and thirst, but because weโve trained ourselves to be more disciplined during Ramadan.
Rasulullah ๏ทบ said:
“ูููุตููุงุฆูู ู ููุฑูุญูุชูุงููุ ููุฑูุญูุฉู ุนูููุฏู ููุทูุฑูููุ ุนูููุฏู ููููุงุกู ุฑูุจูููู”
“For those who fast there are two happiness: happiness when breaking the fast, and happiness when they meet their Rabb.” (HR. Muslim)
So, the joy of Eid isnโt just about enjoying delicious food after a month of fasting itโs about knowing that weโve worshiped sincerely and hoping to earn Allahโs pleasure.

Eid: A Moment of Gratitude and Sharing
Talking about Eid wouldnโt be complete without mentioning gratitude and sharing. Eid is the perfect time to appreciate all the blessings Allah ๏ทป has given usโnot just with words, but through our actions too.
Thatโs why, before Eid, we have the obligation to give zakat fitrah. Itโs not just a ritual, but a way to show care for others. The Prophet ๏ทบ made zakat fitrah a requirement to purify our hearts and help those in need so they can also share in the joy of Eid.
And establish prayer, and pay the zakat, and bow with those who bow.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 43)
So, Eid isnโt just about receiving itโs about sharing too. The more we share, the more complete our happiness becomes!

Time to Practice More Piety
Just because Ramadan is over doesnโt mean our worship stops. In fact, Eid marks the start of an even stronger journey of faith. Ramadan has trained us to be more disciplined, avoid sins, and get closer to Allah ๏ทป. Nowโs the time to show that all that effort wasnโt for nothing!
O you who believe! Fear Allah with true piety, and do not die unless you are a Muslim.” (QS. Ali Imran: 102)
True piety means following all of Allahโs commands and staying away from what He forbids. So, donโt let Eid make us careless. In fact, this is the perfect time to level up our worship because the real sign that our Ramadan efforts were accepted is when we become even more pious afterward!

Don’t Let Your Worship Spirit Fade After Eid
Do we sometimes feel relieved after Eid and end up getting lazy with worship? Thatโs exactly what we need to avoid! Ramadan should be a starting point to improve our worship, not just a temporary phase.
If we were used to waking up early for sahur, why not continue with tahajud? If we made a habit of reading the Qurโan daily, why stop after Ramadan? Eid should be our motivation to keep up these good habits not the end of the journey.
After Eid, letโs stay consistent with praying on time, reading the Qurโan, and giving charity. Donโt let all the good things we built during Ramadan just fade away!
The Messenger of Allah ๏ทบ said:
“ุฃูุญูุจูู ุงููุฃูุนูู ูุงูู ุฅูููู ุงูููููู ุฃูุฏูููู ูููุง ููุฅููู ููููู”“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are done continuously, even if they are little.” (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
So, donโt stop just because Ramadan is over. Keep the spirit of worship alive because thatโs the real key to true happiness!

Lebaran is Not an Event for Sin
Lebaran should be a moment of victory of faith, not a time to fall into sin. Unfortunately, many people fill Lebaran with useless things, even contrary to Islamic values.
Instead of strengthening their worship, some people get caught up in partying, socializing without boundaries, and even forgetting to pray. In fact, Allah ๏ทป has reminded us:
“ููููุง ุชูุชููุจูุนููุง ุฎูุทูููุงุชู ุงูุดููููุทูุงูู ุฅูููููู ููููู ู ุนูุฏูููู ู ููุจูููู”
“And do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is an open enemy to you.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 208)
Letโs make Eid a time to get closer to Allah ๏ทป, not the other way around. Donโt let the victory we achieved during Ramadan fade away just because of negligence on Eid day.
There is Still Much We Must Improve
Practicing Islam is not only during Ramadan, but throughout our lives. Eid reminds us that there is still much we must improve in order to become better Muslims.
O you who believe! Enter into Islam completely, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is an open enemy to you.โ (QS. Al-Baqarah: 208)
Conclusion
Eid is more than just a celebration itโs a victory of faith, a time to be grateful, share, and strengthen our connection with Allah ๏ทป. True happiness isnโt just about delicious food or new clothes, but about having a pure and pious heart.
Donโt let the spirit of worship we built during Ramadan fade away. Letโs make Eid a fresh start for a better life! May we always be under Allahโs protection and continue to experience true happiness. Aamiin.
