Sharing in Ramadan: Rewards Beyond Imagination!
Who doesn’t want to get a big reward in the month of Ramadan? This blessed month is a golden moment for all of us to share as much as possible. Starting from charity, giving food to break the fast, to helping others who are in trouble. In short, this is the right time to increase our acts of worship!
Why do we have to share in the month of Ramadan? Here, there are many reasons why we should be more generous during fasting. Not only because the rewards are multiplied, but also because sharing can make the heart calmer and happier. Come on, see the advantages!
Multiplied Rewards, Erasing Sins, and Getting Shelter in the Hereafter
The month of Ramadan is very special! Every good deed we do, the reward is multiplied. Rasulullah ﷺ once said:
“Whoever gives food to break the fast to another person, he will receive a reward like that person fasting without reducing the person’s reward in the slightest.” (HR. Tirmidhi)
Not only the reward is multiplied, sharing can also erase our sins. In the hadith it is stated:
إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ
“Almsgiving can extinguish sins just as water extinguishes fire.” (HR. Tirmidhi)
And what’s even cooler, on the Day of Judgment, almsgiving will be a shelter for us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
كُلُّ امْرِئٍ فِي ظِلِّ صَدَقَتِهِ حَتَّى يُقْضَى بَيْنَ النَّاسِ“The shade of a believer on the Day of Resurrection is his charity.” (Narrated by Ahmad)
So, the more we share in the month of Ramadan, the greater our chances of getting protection in the afterlife. Cool, right?

Emulating the Generosity of the Prophet ﷺ and Purifying Wealth
The Prophet ﷺ was very well known as the most generous person, especially during the month of Ramadan. There is a hadith that says:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَجْوَدَ النَّاسِ، وَكَانَ أَجْوَدَ مَا يَكُونُ فِي رَمَضَانَ
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the most generous person, and he was even more generous in the month of Ramadan.” (Narrated by Bukhari)
As his followers, we should follow in his footsteps. After all, sharing is not only for others, but also for ourselves. By giving alms, our wealth becomes more blessed and our souls are calmer. In addition, giving alms can also be an investment in the afterlife that will not be a loss. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلَّا عِزًّا
“Alms will not reduce wealth, and Allah does not increase a servant with a forgiving nature except that he becomes more noble.” (Narrated by Muslim)
So, there is no reason to be stingy. In fact, by sharing, we are increasingly blessed and our sustenance is expanded!

Sharing Makes You Happy and Grows Gratitude
Have you ever felt happiness after helping someone? It’s not a coincidence! Sharing can indeed increase happiness. In fact, modern research also says that giving can increase the happiness hormone in the body.
In addition, the Prophet ﷺ also said:
اليد العليا خيرٌ من اليد السفلى
“The upper hand is better than the lower hand.” (Narrated by Bukhari)
This means that giving is better than asking. So, the more we give, the more happiness we feel.
In addition to making you happy, sharing can also grow gratitude. When we see people in need, we become more aware that what we have now is an extraordinary blessing from Allah ﷻ. We become more grateful and less likely to complain.
