Tahajud Prayer: The Worship of the Pious
One of the most highly recommended voluntary prayers in Islam is Tahajud prayer which is offered in the final third of the night when most people are sound asleep. And during a portion of the night pray Tahajud as an additional prayer for you, Your Lord might elevate you to a praised position.
According to this verse Tahajud is a way to improve a servant’s standing in Allah’s eyes.
Additionally Allah outlines the characteristics of the righteous in Surah As-Sajdah verses 16:
Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah’s Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them.
The most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in a hadith underscoring the significance of night prayers:
The best fast after the fast of Ramadan is the fast in the month of Allah -Muharram-. The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is the night prayer.(Narrated by Muslim:1163)
Tahajud is a sign of piety since it necessitates giving up the luxury of sleep in order to appear before Allah ﷻ.

Many blessings are promised by Allah ﷻ to those who regularly perform Tahajud. the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in a hadith:
“Our Lord, the Almighty, will descend every night to the heavens of the world when the last third of the night remains. Then Allah says, “Whoever prays to Me, I will grant him. Whoever asks Me, I will give him. Whoever asks Me for forgiveness, I will forgive him.” (Narrated by Bukhari:1145 and Muslim:758)
This verse noted that Allah ﷻ will answer every prayer and will forgive everyone ask for forgiveness from everybody do Tahajud.
As stated in Surah Al-Isra verse 79 rewards for performing Tahajud include a higher status in Allah ﷻ’s eyes.

Instructions for Tahajud Prayer Performance
The steps for performing Tahajud Prayer are as follows: Tahajud is performed after waking up from bed at night ideally in the final third of the night which is regarded as a very fortunate time for prayer the performance is conducted. There is no upper limit to the maximum number of raka’ahs which Tahajud is performed even though including Witr the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ usually performed eleven raka’ahs.. Once the prayer is finished it is advised to perform a lengthy dua ask Allah for forgiveness (istighfar) and His mercy.
In conclusion
The act of Tahajud Prayer is a manifestation of a servants piety and devotion. Muslims show their dedication to becoming closer to Allah ﷻ by rising at night. One can achieve forgiveness ease in life and a noble position in Allah ﷻ’s eyes through Tahajud. As an expression of our gratitude and devotion to Allah ﷻ let us endeavor to make Tahajud a regular practice.
